Merchandising Is Forever

Vintage Star Wars Toy Story: In the late 80s our neighbor who would sometimes babysit me gave me his old SW toys, including a Falcon with no top, a broken Landspeeder and a dozen or so figures. Power & Death Star Droids were my favorites, though I knew not their names. His gift was both boon and bane: Those years were Star Wars purgatory and the only SW figures I could find were dusty old ones at yard sales and fleamarkets. Frustrating at the time, but nostalgic now. (LOVE YOUR BLOG)

Thanks for your story! It’s true, there were very few Star Wars figures being produced in the late 80s. The original Kenner toy line ended with “The Power of the Force” series in 1985, which included the highly coveted “Last 17” figures, such as Yak Face.

Your work is amazing, I don't think I have ever spent so much time staring at a gif as I do with yours! Really nice, hope you have many more still!

Thanks! I have about 50 more figures to go for the GIFs. But don’t worry, after that there’s the playsets and vehicles. And I have many more surprises and tricks up my sleeve :)

Brilliant work! I loved these toys as a kid, and I think this is one of the most original online toy archives I've ever seen. I'm really impressed with your creativity and your dedication - as well as the subject matter, naturally.

Thanks, your encouragement means everything to me.
